A golden oldie. And it works.

One particularly effective tactic that has been around for a long time, but remains just as effective as ever, is email marketing. Reaching potential customers and fans of your business or brand directly in their inbox with meaningful and interesting content is almost guaranteed to get good results. (According to Constant Contact, email marketing has a huge ROI–something like $36 return for every $1 spent!)

Just don’t send spam. We hate spam.

How to get started with email marketing.

Getting started with an email marketing campaign is easier than you think.

We’ll help you generate your list, as well as write and send out periodic email blasts that will help you accomplish your goals, whether its driving e-commerce transactions or getting people to schedule a demo. (Read more about our copywriting bona fides here.)

Maximizing the effect of an email marketing campaign.

Of course, an effective email marketing campaign is not as easy as simply sending out emails. There’s a process. There’s testing. There’s optimizations. There’s a strategy.

  • Segmenting Your List. First off, let’s look at segmentation. Your list–whether you have 1,000 or 100,000 names on it–can be segmented into groups; for example: “sales leads” or “product intenders.” People who have clicked on certain sections of your site, for example, may fall into a segment of highly-engaged leads, and could therefore receive a specific product offer to help get them to convert.
  • Writing Great Content. You can send emails all day long to people, but unless you’ve written something compelling, you won’t get anything out of it. From generating headlines that get strong open rates to producing content that drives leads and clicks, copywriting is the most crucial aspect of email marketing–so spend a good deal of time making sure your emails are worthy of pressing the “send” button.
  • Cleaning and Maintaining Your List. Although it isn’t the most glamorous part of the job, cleaning and maintaining your list is also very important. This means de-duping your list, removing folks who have unsubscribed, and updating information so as not to waste money on bad data.
  • Testing. As with all things related to digital marketing, testing and optimizing is the key to winning the day. If it’s not working, you can know quickly and pivot to a better strategy–be it a different offer, a different list, or a different headline. Don’t ignore the data.
  • Be Consistent. Just as with building a strong social media following, consistency is key to a great email marketing campaign. One-off emails now and again won’t do much to move the needle, so make sure you plan ahead and have material ready to go out on a regular basis.
